Seyo Privacy Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Last updated: [LAST UPDATED DATE]
The short version
- You own your music. We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't track where you are. Seyo never reads your phone's GPS. When you link up with someone, the pin goes on the venue, not your exact spot, and other people see an approximate area.
- Contacts stay on your phone. To find people you know, we turn phone numbers into scrambled codes on your phone and send only those codes. We never upload your address book, names or numbers, and we never message your contacts.
- Your messages are private between you and the people you're talking to.
- You're in control. You can change who sees your map and who can message you, block people, download your data and delete your account.
The rest of this policy explains the details.
1. Who we are
Seyo is a mobile and web app for independent musicians and the people who work with them. It is run by 30TWO Media LLC, a New York limited liability company ("Seyo", "we", "us").
- Address: [COMPANY ADDRESS]
- Privacy contact: [PRIVACY EMAIL, e.g. privacy@inde32.app]
- [If required: EU/UK representative: [NAME AND ADDRESS]]
- [If required: Data protection officer: [NAME AND CONTACT]]
This policy covers the Seyo apps for iPhone and Android, the website at [inde32.app], and your Seyo link page and web card (together, the "Services").
2. Information you give us
When you use Seyo, you give us:
- Account details: your name or artist name, your handle (@name), your city, what you do (for example Artist, Producer, A&R), and how you signed in.
- Profile details: your bio, status, photos, the music and videos you put on your shelf or display case, your links, the genres you work in, what you're open to (for example features or sync), and the look you pick for your profile.
- Things you post: posts, replies, open calls, "in search of" (ISO) posts, marketplace listings, events you host, and anything you share to your feed.
- Work and agreements: split sheets, deals and other documents you create, including your signature on them.
- Releases: the details, credits, splits, artwork and audio for songs you get ready to release (see section 2b).
- Your settings: your language, privacy choices and notification choices.
- Your date of birth: asked once when you sign up (or, for older accounts, the next time you open the app). It's stored privately and never shown to anyone, including on your profile. The app only uses your age group (13–15, 16–17 or 18 and over) to decide which features you can use and to protect younger members. You can't change it yourself once it's set; contact us at alex@seyoapp.com to fix a mistake.
2a. Signing in
You can sign in with:
- Google. Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We use your name to start your profile.
- Apple (on iPhone). Apple tells us your name (only the first time you sign in) and either your email address or a private relay address that Apple creates, depending on what you choose.
Your sign-in is handled by our database provider, Supabase (see section 11). We don't see or store your Google or Apple password.
2b. Releases and split sheets
When you get a song ready to release, Seyo keeps everything about it in one place so you only fill it in once:
- Release details: the title, release date, genres and the other details stores ask for, the people credited (artists, producers and others), and any ISRC or UPC codes you add.
- Songwriters and splits: each writer's legal name, their role, their share, their PRO (for example ASCAP or BMI) and their IPI number if known, plus the master and publishing splits. You may enter these details for your co-writers; please only add what they've agreed to share with you.
- Your artwork and master audio: the files you upload for the release.
- Split sheets: the shares, who signed, each signature and the date it was signed.
Who can see it.
- Your releases, their details, artwork and audio are private to you. Nobody else can see a release you're preparing.
- Your legal name, PRO and IPI are remembered between releases so you don't have to type them again. They're kept privately with your account, only you can see them, and they're never shown on your profile.
- A split sheet can be seen by the people on it: the shares, who has signed, and the signatures and dates.
- People you credit on a release are told, and can confirm or remove their credit (as with other credits).
Nothing is sent to stores or distributors. Seyo doesn't send your release, its details or its files to Spotify, Apple Music or any other store, or to DistroKid or any other distributor. When you use Copy release package or save your artwork and audio, the copy goes to you, and you decide where to paste or upload it. If we ever offer to release music for you through a distribution partner, we'll update this policy first and you'll choose whether to use it.
3. Contacts matching
If you choose to, Seyo can check which of your phone contacts are already on Seyo. Here is exactly what happens:
- Your phone asks for permission to read your contacts. You can say no, and everything else in Seyo still works.
- On your phone, Seyo reads only the phone numbers. It does not read names, emails, photos, notes or anything else.
- Still on your phone, each number is turned into a one-way scrambled code (a "hash", using [SHA-256 with a secret app-wide value]). A hash can be compared to another hash, but it can't easily be turned back into the number.
- Only these hashes are sent to our servers, where they are compared with the hashes of members' numbers.
- We tell you which members matched. We do not store the hashes from your contacts after the check is done.
We never upload your address book, we never store your contacts' names or numbers, and we never message or invite your contacts. If you want to invite someone, you send the invite yourself from your phone's share menu.
People you find this way can be followed. Finding someone through contacts never puts them on your map or shares anyone's location.
4. Link-ups, the map and location
We do not collect your device's location. Seyo doesn't ask for location permission and never reads your phone's GPS.
Instead, location in Seyo comes from places, not from you:
- Your city. You tell us your city when you sign up. It shows on your profile and helps us show what's happening near you.
- Link-ups. When you meet someone in person and scan each other's Seyo code, you pick the venue where you met. The link-up is saved with the venue's location, never your exact spot. A link-up records who linked up, the venue, the date, and the venue's map position.
- Who sees link-up pins. Only you and the person you linked up with can see the venue of your link-up. On your map, other people see an approximate area (a "privacy bubble" about 200 meters wide, deliberately not centered on the venue), not the venue itself. You control who can see your map in Settings › Who sees my map ([Only me / Link-ups / Everyone]).
- Daily scan and "nearby". People near you are shown by approximate distance from your city or neighborhood, never by exact position. No names are shown until you both choose to link up.
- Events and Pop-Ups. If you host an event, the venue you enter is shown to guests. For a "surprise location" Pop-Up, guests see only the borough until the address is revealed.
- Marketplace. Listings show an approximate area. The exact pickup spot is shared in your chat with the buyer only after they buy.
Map providers. To draw maps, your device downloads map images from map providers: on the web, [OpenFreeMap] and [CARTO]; on iPhone, Apple Maps; on Android, Google Maps. Like any website, these providers receive your device's internet (IP) address when they send the map. They do not receive your Seyo account details or your link-ups.
4a. Venues, open dates and bookings
- Venue accounts. A venue's profile is public to signed-in members, because a venue is a public business: its name, neighborhood, street address and exact map position (if the venue adds them), capacity, genres booked, sound setup, load-in notes, room photos and, if the venue chooses, its pay range. A venue can hide its pay range from artists.
- Open dates. The dates a venue posts (night, slot, set length, pay, genres, deadline) are visible to signed-in members, except people the venue has blocked or who blocked it.
- Applications. When you apply to a date, your song or link, your message and your rate are sent only to that venue. Other artists only ever see how many people applied, never who.
- Booking offers and bookings. A venue's offer is a message in your chat with the venue. When you accept, a booking is created with the agreed night, slot, set length and pay. Only you and the venue can see a booking. Seyo doesn't take or send the payment; pay is shown only.
- Invites. A venue can send you a booking offer without you applying only if you turned on Open to bookings in Edit profile. You can turn it off at any time.
- Show night. When you check in at the venue (by scanning its code) or the venue marks that you played and you confirm it, it's saved as a link-up at the venue's location, like any link-up (section 4).
- Past shows and Played at. Once both sides confirmed a show, the artist's name, the venue's name, the slot and the date can appear on both profiles, for signed-in members. Pay is never shown.
5. Messages
When you message someone, we store the messages so you and they can read them on any device. This includes text, offers (for example a price for a beat or a service), meetup invites and anything you attach.
- Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation.
- We do not read your messages or use them for advertising. We may look at specific messages only if: someone reports them to us, we need to investigate a safety problem or a breach of our Terms, or the law requires it.
- You control who can message you in Settings › Who can message me ([Everyone / Link-ups / Nobody]).
- If you block someone, they can't message you (see section 12).
- Message tags ("Help improve tips"). Only if you turn on Settings › Help improve tips (it's off unless you do), Seyo saves a few yes/no facts about the messages you start or follow up on, never the words:
- whether it opens with a compliment, asks a question or has a link, and whether it's short, medium or long (worked out on your phone before anything is sent);
- whether it's a follow-up before they replied, whether it was sent within a day of a link-up or match with that person, and how soon they replied (worked out by our database).
We use these only to learn which habits get replies, and only share a tip once a pattern has been seen from at least 50 different people, so a tip can never point back to anyone. Nobody can see your tags, including the person you messaged. Replies in an ongoing conversation aren't tagged. Turning the switch off stops new tags right away, and you can delete the ones already saved at the same time. Tags are deleted after 12 months, when the message is deleted, or when your account is.
- Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted while they travel over the internet and are stored on our provider's servers, which encrypt stored data. [CONFIRM WITH ENGINEERING]
6. Linked accounts (Spotify, Instagram and others)
You can choose to connect other accounts, such as Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Shopify. When you connect one:
- You sign in on that service's own page. We never see your password for that service.
- That service gives us access only to the information you approve on its permission screen. We use it to [show your releases and play counts, show your follower numbers, and fill in your stats and analytics]. [LIST EXACTLY WHICH DATA EACH SERVICE PROVIDES ONCE BUILT]
- We store a connection key (a "token") so we can keep your stats up to date. We don't post anything to those accounts.
- You can disconnect any account in Settings › Connected accounts. When you do, we stop collecting from it and delete the token. You can also remove Seyo's access from the other service's own settings.
Your use of those services is covered by their own privacy policies.
Separately, links you add to your profile (for example your Instagram or Spotify page) are just links. Adding a link doesn't connect the account or give us any data from it.
7. Hobie (AI assistant)
Hobie is Seyo's built-in assistant. It answers questions about your music career, your stats and what's happening in your scene, and it can suggest reminders and next steps. When you're signed in and ask Hobie something, the answer is written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic.
What we send to Anthropic when you ask Hobie something. Each time, only what's needed for that one answer:
- Your question, and up to the 20 earlier messages in that same Hobie chat.
- From your profile: your name, handle, role, city, genres, what you're open to, bio, tagline, status, and whether you're a person or a venue. If you're a venue: its name, city, neighborhood, size, genres and whether it's verified.
- Your upcoming events: the ones you host (name, place, time, who can see it), and the ones you said you're going or maybe going to (name, place, time).
- If you're 18 or over: your upcoming bookings (time, slot, set length, pay, door split, status, and the venue's name and neighborhood), your applications to venue dates (status, the date, slot and venue), open dates you could apply to, and up to 10 verified venues that book your kind of music (name, city, neighborhood, size, genres).
- Public things to suggest: public events in the next 45 days (name, place, time, host's name and handle), and up to 12 people you could work with, using only their public profile details (name, handle, role, city, genres and what they're open to). People who blocked you, or you blocked, and people who turned off Show me in daily scans are left out.
- If your songs have A&R reviews (section 9c): each song's title, the result in words, whether it's ready to pitch, and Hobie's summary. Never reviewers' scores or sentences.
- Today's date, and Hobie's instructions.
When Hobie writes your A&R review summary (section 9c), we send Anthropic the song's title, the result in words (for example "Strong"), the strengths reviewers picked, and the reviewers' short notes on what to work on next, so Hobie can sum them up in its own words. Reviewers' names are never sent, and neither is anything about you beyond the song's title.
What we never send to Anthropic: your email address, phone number, date of birth or age group, password, exact location or map, your messages with other people (unless you paste them into a question), anyone's private settings, bookings or earnings, or your account ID.
- Who powers Hobie: Anthropic, PBC, acting as our service provider. Hobie uses Anthropic's commercial API, which is covered by Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service and its Data Processing Addendum.
- Anthropic doesn't train its AI on your Hobie chats. Anthropic's Commercial Terms say: "Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services." (Commercial Terms of Service, effective June 17, 2025.) Its API documentation adds that retained data "is never used for model training without your express permission." (API and data retention.)
- How long Anthropic keeps it: Anthropic automatically deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days. There are two exceptions: if Anthropic's automated safety systems flag a chat as breaking its Usage Policy, it may keep it for up to 2 years (and its safety scores for up to 7 years); and it may keep data longer where the law requires. (How long do you store my organization's data?, updated July 1, 2026.) Seyo doesn't have a "zero data retention" agreement with Anthropic, so the standard 30 days applies.
- We don't use your Hobie chats to train AI models, and we don't let anyone else do so.
- Where Seyo keeps your Hobie chats: in our database (Supabase), so you can see your past chats on any device. Only you can read them. We also count how many messages you send each day, for the daily limit. Your chats stay until you delete them (Hobie › Past chats, the clock icon, then delete a chat) or delete your account.
- Hobie doesn't see your messages with other people unless you paste them into a question, or tap Ask Hobie while writing one.
- Ask Hobie on a message draft suggests a few ways to open, based on the draft you're typing. Today this works entirely on your phone: the draft isn't sent to us or to any AI provider, and it isn't saved. [IF THIS LATER USES AN AI PROVIDER: the draft is sent to Anthropic only when you tap Ask Hobie, only that one draft, it isn't stored by Seyo, and it isn't used to train AI models.]
- Hobie can be wrong, and Hobie doesn't give legal, medical or financial advice. For contracts, taxes, investments, loans or health, it gives general information only and suggests the right professional (for example an entertainment lawyer, an accountant, a financial adviser or a doctor). If you might be in danger, contact your local emergency services.
- If you're under 18, Hobie follows extra safety rules: it keeps things appropriate for teens, doesn't encourage meeting people in person you only know online, doesn't suggest the 18+ features, and points you to a parent, guardian or other trusted adult for anything serious. To do this, we tell Anthropic only that you're a younger member, never your age, age group or date of birth, and Hobie never mentions your age to you or anyone else. Your bookings, applications and open dates aren't sent (you don't have them under 18).
- You can turn off Hobie tips and reminders in Settings, and delete any Hobie chat in Hobie › Past chats.
8. Payments and subscriptions
When you buy a plan or get paid through Seyo:
- Subscriptions bought in the iPhone or Android app are handled by Apple or Google. They share with us what you bought and whether it is active, not your card details.
- Other payments and payouts (for example the marketplace, gigs, merch, tickets, and cashing out to your bank) are handled by [PAYMENT PROVIDER, e.g. Stripe]. That provider collects your payment card or bank details and, for payouts, the identity and tax information it is legally required to check (for example your legal name, date of birth, address and tax ID). We don't store your full card or bank numbers.
- What we keep: a record of each transaction (what, who, when, how much, the Seyo fee and the status), so we can show you your earnings, handle disputes, and meet our tax and accounting duties.
- Money we hold. For gigs and marketplace sales, payment is held [by our payment provider] until the work is approved or the item is picked up, then paid out to the seller.
9. Analytics and how we improve Seyo
- Usage data. If Share anonymous usage is on, we collect information about how the app is used, for example which screens are opened, which features are used, crashes, device type, operating system, app version and language. We use it to fix bugs and see what's working. It is not tied to your name. We use [ANALYTICS / CRASH REPORTING PROVIDER(S)]. You can turn this off at any time in Settings. [CONFIRM: is it on or off by default where you launch? Some places require it to be off until the user agrees.]
- Trends and charts. If Include me in trends is on, your public numbers (for example plays and link-up counts in your city) can count toward Seyo charts and the Seyo Weekly, and you can be named in them. If it's off, your numbers may still be counted in totals, but you're never named. Link-ups and messages are never shown one by one.
- Help improve tips. Off unless you turn it on in Settings. When it's on, we save yes/no tags about messages you send (see section 5), never the words, and use them to learn which habits get replies. A general tip, like "Messages that ask a question get about twice the replies", is only shown once the habit was seen from at least 50 different senders and sent to at least 50 different people. Tips appear in Seyo Sunday for Profile Pro members.
- Seyo Sunday's network wins only include people who turned on Include me in trends, and never their streams or pay.
- The Seyo Score (artists). Once a month we work out a Score from what happens on Seyo: how listeners react to your uploads, fans coming back, shows played and rebooked, confirmed credits, and how regularly you release. It never uses your messages. You always see your own Score. Labels, managers and bookers see it only if Include me in trends is on. To count replays and returning listeners, we keep who played which upload, and how far they got, for up to 2 months; after that only totals with no names.
- Basic technical information. Like any online service, our servers and providers receive your IP address, device and browser type and the time of each request, to deliver the Services and keep them secure.
- Cookies on the website. The website uses only the cookies and similar storage it needs to work: to keep you signed in, remember your language and settings, and (during the private beta) remember that you've entered the access code. [UPDATE IF YOU ADD ANALYTICS OR ADVERTISING COOKIES]
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show third-party ads. [CONFIRM]
9a. Notifications
Every notification goes through one set of rules that decides whether to ping you now, wait for a better time, group it with others, or just leave it in your inbox. The goal is fewer, more useful notifications. To do that, we record:
- When you open the app: the time, your local hour and day of the week, and whether a notification opened it. This is how we avoid pinging you while you're already in the app.
- What happened to each notification: whether it was delivered, seen in your inbox, opened, dismissed, or marked Show fewer like this, and what the rules decided for it (for example "waited for quiet hours to end").
- Changes to your notification settings, such as turning a kind off, snoozing, or changing quiet hours.
We never record the text of your messages or of the notifications themselves in these records, only the kind of notification (for example "booking offer" or "like") and what happened. Nobody can read these records from the app; you only see your own inbox. We keep them for 13 months, then delete them, and they're deleted with your account.
Smart timing. Once enough people use Seyo (about 300), the rules can also learn from these records: when you usually open the app, and which kinds of notifications you tend to open, to send yours at better times and skip ones you'd likely ignore. To do this fairly for new members, we compare against groups of similar members (by role, such as artist or venue, and how often they use the app), and only groups of at least 50 people. Age is never used for this. Smart timing is on unless you turn it off in Settings › Privacy & notifications › Notification settings › Smart timing (or the gear on the Notifications screen). When it's off, you get the simple rules only (quiet hours, a weekly limit, grouping), your activity isn't used to learn anything, including for group statistics, and what was already learned about you is deleted right away. It never applies to members under 18 (see section 14).
Testing that it helps. A random 5% of adult members get only the most important notifications pinged (messages, bookings, a slot opened tonight) and the rest in their inbox, so we can check that the rules really help people. Nothing else is different for them.
9b. Your focus and personalization
Seyo looks the same for everyone, but the order of some things is personal: your Home shortcuts, the cards in On deck and on the Hobie card, Hobie's suggestions, and the sections of Analytics. Nothing is ever hidden; only the order changes, and anything that was moved for you says why ("Because you're focused on getting booked").
- Your focus. You can tell us what you're working on right now (up to two, for example "Get booked" and "Grow my fans"). It's kept with your private settings, nobody else can see it, and you can change it any time in Settings › Your focus. If you skip the question, we use the usual focus for the role you picked. Hobie also uses it to make its advice fit, and we ask you once a month (in On deck) whether it's still right.
- What you open. If you're an adult and Personalize Seyo is on, we record which of these items were shown to you and which you opened, pinned, moved or asked to see less of, and their position on the screen. Only ids and counts, never any text you wrote. From this we work out, once a day, how often you use each item, so the ones you use come first. To be fair to new members, we compare against groups of similar members (role, focus and how often they use the app; never age), only groups of at least 50 people, and only once about 300 people use Seyo. A random 5% of adults see the usual order instead, so we can check that this really helps. Nobody can read these records from the app. We keep them for 13 months, and they're deleted with your account.
- Your choice. Personalize Seyo is on unless you turn it off in Settings › Personalize Seyo. When it's off, you see the usual order everywhere, nothing new is recorded, and what was already learned about you is deleted right away. You can also pin anything where you want it, ask to see less of something, or reset everything to the usual order.
- Under 18: your focus can order things, but nothing is learned from what you open and you're never in the groups or the 5% test (see section 14).
9d. Match labels and the order of your Scan deck
- What we record. If you're an adult and Personalize Seyo is on, we note who you saw in your Scan deck or by opening their profile, and what happened next between the two of you: a Scan yes, a first message, a link-up, a "work again" yes, or a shared credit or signed split sheet. Never the content of any message.
- What it's used for. Each night we learn which kinds of pairs tend to lead to real work together, from what each person does (artist, producer, video, and so on), shared genres, whether you're in the same city, how often the other person uses Seyo, people you've both linked up with, and track record. We never use age, gender, race, religion or any other sensitive trait. This changes the order of your Scan deck and the match labels Profile Pro shows on other people's profiles. Older information counts less over time.
- Fair to new people. Some Scan cards are always kept for people who are new or less known.
- What nobody sees. You never see your own label, and nobody can see how others are labeled or any ranking of people. A random 10% of adults keep the original order so we can check this really helps; the team sees only totals in a monthly report.
- Your choice. Turn off Settings › Personalize Seyo and your Scan deck and labels use the fixed rules only, nothing new is recorded, and what was recorded is deleted right away. We keep these records for 13 months; they're deleted with your account.
- Under 18: none of this applies to you. You're never in Scan or matching (see section 14).
9c. A&R reviews of your songs
- What it is. Three or more people from Seyo's A&R team listen to one of your songs and score it in five areas (vocals, songwriting, production, performance, readiness), say whether it's ready to pitch, pick one strength and write a few short notes. Your song gets into the review queue either because strangers on Radio Seyo responded to it, or because you asked (about once a month).
- Reviews are blind. Reviewers see the song's title, genres and the audio. They never see your name, Score, followers or city, and they never get songs from people they follow, have linked up with, chatted with, share a credit with or matched with.
- What you see. Only words (Standout, Strong, Solid, Room to grow, Early stage) and a short summary Hobie writes from what reviewers said (see section 7). Never reviewers' scores, names or own sentences. The result is private to you, and Hobie can talk about it with you.
- What we keep. The reviewers' scores, notes and any worry they flagged are kept for the Seyo team (for example to check reviewers are fair). If most reviewers say the song is ready to pitch and its readiness came out Strong or Standout, and Include me in trends is on, it counts as a co-sign in your Seyo Score. Everything is deleted with the song or your account.
- Under 18: no reviews. You can't ask for one and your songs never go into the review queue (see section 14).
10. Camera, photos and calendar
- Camera. Seyo uses your camera to scan Seyo codes when you link up. The camera picture is read on your phone and is not saved or sent to us.
- Selfie verification. If you choose to get verified, you take a short selfie video. [VERIFICATION PROVIDER] compares it with your profile photos to check it's really you. The selfie is used only for this check. It never appears on your profile, and we don't keep the video [after the check is done / for more than [X DAYS]]. [CONFIRM WITH PROVIDER; selfie checks may involve biometric data, which some laws (for example Illinois BIPA) treat very strictly. Get legal advice before launch.]
- Photos. You choose photos from your library for your profile, your Scrapbook and your listings. Photos you put on your profile or a listing are uploaded and can be seen by others. Scrapbook photos are private to you unless you share a folder. We don't access any photo you don't pick.
- Calendar. If you turn on calendar sync, Seyo adds your sessions, meetups and deadlines to an "Seyo" calendar on your phone. To show when you're busy, it reads only the start and end times of events in your other calendars. Event titles, places and guests never leave your phone.
11. Who we share information with
What other members can see:
- Public to everyone (including people who aren't signed in, through your link page or web card): your name, handle, photo, city, role, bio, links, and the work you put on your profile.
- Other members can also see your posts, your activity, who you've worked with (if shown), your shelf and display case, and the other things you choose to make visible.
- Only people you choose can see your messages, link-up venues and private (Circle-only) content.

- Choose who sees your map and who can message you in Settings.
- Block someone. Blocked people can't message you, see your profile or find you in Daily scan, and you're hidden from each other's map and feed. They aren't told.
- Report someone from their profile (for example "Asked me to pay to play" or "Fake gig or venue"). Reports are saved for the Seyo team, and the person you report isn't told who reported them. We review reports [within 24 hours].
- Turn off usage sharing, trends, Hobie tips and notifications in Settings, and choose how each kind of notification reaches you.
- Turn off Smart timing in Settings › Privacy & notifications › Notification settings, so notifications follow simple rules only and your activity isn't used to learn (see section 9a).
- Edit or delete a release you're preparing, and change your saved legal name, PRO and IPI the next time you prepare a release (or ask us at alex@seyoapp.com to delete them).
- Change your focus in Settings › Your focus, or turn off Personalize Seyo right below it. Off means the usual order everywhere, and what Seyo learned from what you open is deleted right away (see section 9b).
- Turn off Help improve tips in Settings, and choose to delete the message tags already saved.
- Disconnect linked accounts in Settings.
- Download your data in Settings › Download my data. [DESCRIBE FORMAT AND TIMING]
- Delete your account in Settings › Delete account (see section 13).
Your legal rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your information;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- move it to another service;
- object to or limit how we use it;
- withdraw your consent;
- and complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, contact us at alex@seyoapp.com. We'll reply within [30 DAYS / the time the law requires]. We may need to check it's really you first. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
[OPTIONAL, FOR LEGAL REVIEW: add sections for specific laws that apply, for example the EU and UK GDPR (including our legal bases: contract, legitimate interests, consent and legal obligation), the California Consumer Privacy Act (including a "we don't sell or share" statement), and other US state privacy laws.]
13. How long we keep information
- While your account is open, we keep your information so the Services work.
- When you delete your account, it's deleted right away and permanently. It can't be undone, and there's no waiting period. Your profile, photos, posts, link-ups, map pins, events, releases, Scrapbook, uploaded files and the messages you sent (including from other people's chats) are removed at once. Copies in our backups are deleted within [X DAYS]. Credits other people gave you stay on their songs as just your name.
- What we may keep after deletion:
- Signed split sheets and deals stay available to the other people who signed them (including your signature and the date), because they rely on them and the law may require it.
- Transaction and tax records, for as long as the law requires (usually [7 YEARS]).
- Information we need for safety, fraud prevention or legal claims, for example a record that an account was banned.
- Information that no longer identifies you, such as totals in charts.
- Releases you were preparing (their details, artwork and master audio) and your saved legal name, PRO and IPI are deleted with your account.
- Bookings and applications are deleted with your account. A venue keeps seeing that a date was booked, but not your details.
- Reports you send, and reports about you, are kept as long as needed to keep people safe (for example to ban a venue that asks artists to pay to play).
- Notification records (when you open the app, what happened to each notification, and settings changes; never message text) are kept for 13 months, then deleted.
- Message tags ("Help improve tips") are kept for 12 months, then deleted. General tips learned from them stay, because they don't point to anyone.
- Money waiting to be paid out is still sent to you after you delete your account.
- Paid features are cancelled when you delete your account. [CONFIRM: in-app subscriptions must also be cancelled in the App Store or Google Play.]
14. Children
You must be at least 13 to use Seyo. Sign-up asks your date of birth first. If you're under 13, you can't make an account and we don't save anything you typed. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we will delete it. If you think a child under 13 is using Seyo, contact us at alex@seyoapp.com.
If you're 13 to 17, you can use everything for making and sharing your work: your profile, uploading songs and videos, Radio Seyo and Watch Seyo, the feed, following and likes, your display case, The 32, Search, the Weekly and Report, your Score, and Hobie. To protect you:
- 18+ features are off for you: bookings and offers from venues, "a slot opened tonight", applying to venue dates, in-person link-ups and the link-up map, Scan and matching, the marketplace, and events marked 18+ or 21+. Venue and booker accounts are 18+ too. These are refused by our servers, not just hidden.
- Messages: adults can't start a chat with you. You can message, and be messaged by, only people you follow who also follow you back.
- You never appear in Scan or matching, in booking suggestions, or in "a slot opened" alerts.
- Notifications: quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM (always on if you're 13–15), no "come back" or streak reminders, no wording experiments, and Smart timing never learns from you.
- Personalization: your focus can order your screens, but nothing is learned from what you open, and you're never in group statistics or tests (see section 9b).
- A&R reviews: none during the beta. Your songs never go to reviewers (see section 9c).
- Trends: your activity is never included in Seyo trends, the Weekly, or any group statistics.
- We never use your age to target you with more notifications or content. It's only used for these protections.
Checking ages. For now, 18+ features rely on the date of birth you give us. Later we may ask adults to confirm their age with an ID check through a provider such as [AGE CHECK PROVIDER]; if so, we'll update this policy first and say what the provider receives.
15. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encryption while it travels, encrypted storage at our providers, access controls, and limits on which staff can see it. [ADD ANY SPECIFIC MEASURES] No service can be perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Seyo changes. If we make an important change, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
